Transport Trays for Endoscopy Instruments
The transport tray plays an essential role in protecting a flexible endoscopic device in transit. This device is expensive and fragile, so must be transported safely and smoothly through three areas in the reprocessing unit: the soiled area, the clean area and finally the sterile area.
The tray’s transparent lid is specially designed for the healthcare industry so hospital staff can immediately see the endoscopic device inside.
The tray also features clean and soiled nameplates, two side handles and a front opening, making it both user-friendly and easy to handle. Plus it offers hospitals an eco-responsible solution, as no consumables such as bags or film are required.
Transport Carts for Endoscope Containers
To transport several endoscopic devices simultaneously, Adaptaid has developed a cart that can move up to five transport trays.
The trays containing the endoscopes are placed separately on specially modulated guides with stops to hold them in place during movement. This protects endoscopes from potential damage during transit from the operating room to the reprocessing unit.
Made of 304 grade stainless steel, this cart is compatible with the automated washers used in hospitals.
Storage and Drying Cabinets for Endoscopes
After reprocessing, endoscope cabinets are used dry and store endoscopes. Each instrument is suspended vertically on a separate hook to prevent it from coming into contact with the other devices. This vertical configuration is primarily designed to facilitate the drying process.
The channels inside the endoscope can be ventilated, which allows water to be flushed more quickly, reducing drying time.
The endoscope cabinets are made entirely of stainless steel and equipped with HEPA filters and continuous positive-pressure ventilation, which provide an aseptic environment for endoscopes awaiting reuse.
Pass-Throughs for Endoscopic Devices
To speed up the movement of endoscopes, pass-through cabinets, commonly called “pass-throughs,” offer fast, controlled passage between the procedure area and the reprocessing area. There are two types of cabinets: pass-through storage cabinets for suspending endoscopes and pass-through transport and storage cabinets used for transport bins.
To fully understand the usefulness of pass-throughs, you need to know that these cabinets are inserted in a wall adjoining two rooms with complementary functions. Since they are accessible from both sides of two adjacent rooms, when one door is opened, the opposite door is automatically locked to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
Like the company’s other endoscope cabinets, Adaptaid’s pass-throughs also feature a positive-pressure compartment with air purified by HEPA filters. These pass-through cabinets reduce transport time, facilitate endoscope storage and increase medical staff productivity.
