FEW TIPS FOR A DISPLAY THAT MEETS YOUR NEEDS

News - Intro image
It is good to know that the role of a display stand is to highlight a product so that it is noticed at first glance. We want each product to be presented to its best advantage to pique curiosity and thereby stimulate sales.

There are several types of display stands for different needs. It may be floor-standing, on a counter, shelves or even fastened to the existing displays in the store.

Steve Gravel, CEO of Les Fils Métalliques Berthier, suggests that you ask the following questions to guide you in the process to develop the perfect metal display stand.

What brand or type of retailer are you targeting with this product ?

It is important that you target the markets effectively because even if a product can be sold at a grocery store, a pharmacy or a hardware store, you can bet that the pharmacy cannot use the same display stands as the grocery store or even less so, the hardware store, due to a lack of space. It is often more profitable and beneficial for the display to be adapted to the retail space, even if it requires 1, 2 or even 3 different formats when a product is launched.

What product layout is desired ?

There are well-established standards for each type of store and even each department. You need to discuss it with the buyers according to the market targeted, because it is essential to obtain the standards of the department where the display stand will be used. This will enable you to assess the number of products that can be stocked in your display and will have a strong influence on the following question...

What is your budget for the project ?

Have you taken the time to analyze your merchandizing budget or your return on investment? Several factors will influence the sums available to develop the display stand. Clearly, the profit margin on each product sold from the display must be evaluated, as well as how often the display will be replenished, and over what period it will be used. For example, if the display is planned for a short period of 6 to 8 weeks, the budget will be lower than if it is planned for a period of 6 months, or it will be higher for a permanent display that is planned for 1 year or more.

How long will it take to develop the ideal bespoke display stand ?

It takes 2 to 4 weeks for the development stage, 2 to 4 weeks to produce a prototype and around 6 to 8 weeks for it to be made in the factory, depending on the number of items to be manufactured. Generally, while working with our clients, the more complex the project, the more time it will take to design and manufacture. For a relatively simple project it will take 10 weeks for example, and for a larger development, you must plan at least 12 to 14 weeks.
